This week we were hoping to get Anastasia into the water. As you can tell by the "were hoping," it did not happen. Nonetheless we did get a lot accomplished! We have fitted and secured the repaired bowsprit! This is a small victory for Maxwell and I because this particular project took WAY longer than we thought it should have. And, it was something unexpected! Check out the photo below. She is ready to lead the way!
We also reinstalled the completely rebuilt (by us!) manual windlass. It is funny how someone would advertise, on a boat listing, a piece of equipment to be an asset or perk when that said piece of equipment is completely seized with rust! I know that it is ultimately our fault for not checking it out first but we will chock that one up to a lesson learned. Never will that happen again!
The lead photo is of Anastasia getting a bottom job. My dad, Howard, came by on Wednesday to help out so we gave him the job. Here are a few others.
As I said in the last blog entry, we will be heading over to Dan & Kelly's dock until our contract starts at Deltaville Marina in May. Dan & Kelly live in Chisman Creek not too far from where we are in Poquoson. I took some photos so you all can see!
Also, our great friend Noah Cannon, who owns a PHENOMENAL fiberglass business in Mathews called Boat Crafters, helped us to fiberglass an elbow to our new muffler. Here he is below trying to instruct Maxwell on the procedure.
So it is back to work today! I will leave you with a few more random photos.
