Calm before the Storm

The seas are calm in the inlet near Sag Harbor, New York where just a few of the great boats of the world seem to be drifting through time. Sleek blue, black and teak colors dominate the equipment tied up here. Barry Diller's rather dated, Japanese built, Mikado seems to gaze listlessly from her chain. Depending on your mood and dress, you can feel like Scott or Zelda. Perhaps it is all a little reminiscent of a more glamorous time? Some of the little boats seem a long way from their offshore ports of tax convenience (Marshal Islands?). In a flutter of prentention, the MV Sojourn arrived after sundown. Apparently carrying precious charter cargo its "security boat" was launched to evaluate Angel whose crew was enjoying some delicious cheese. Later a military helicopter arrived and scanned this "dangerous" harbor. We left before sunrise.
