Tenacatita Bay
13 May 2016 | Tenacatita Bay
Made it out of the marina finally. Managed to sail most the way from Barra de Navidad to Tenacatita on Thursday morning, May 12. Long jaunt of about 14 nautical miles. Anchored in 30 feet just off the estuary for the "Jungle River" tour. Things are dry here in this part of the world - there are many wildfires burning ashore. Several hours after I anchored, after the wind died down somewhat, the whole bay was enveloped in smoke, thick like a fog off the Washington coast, but acrid with the smell of smoke. Smoky here in the anchorage again tonight.
In the accompanying photo, you can see how hazy the setting sun appears.
