Catch up day
16 December 2016 | Iluka/Yamba, New South Wales, Australia
Cam & Annie "H"
We finally got to catch up with my Aunty Verna, Uncle Lindsay and cousin John today over at Yamba. My Aunty and Uncle are retired and living here and my cousin is the local golf club professional in Yamba. They took us for a drive to see some of the sights and we had a lovely lunch at the golf club where John works.
Crossing the Clarence in our dinghy was a bit of an adventure and if it was not for the guidance from a local fisherman I think that we would still be looking for the safe entrance to exit the river into the Yamba Bay.
We might be here for a few more days as there are several weather systems heading up from the south over the next few days, only time will tell. At the moment we have overcast skies with a few showers and a stiff south wind and that would make for a bumpy ride if we were to leave now. We are anchored with several other boats, one being Graff Spee with Paul and Deanne who we met whilst in Brisbane and a Canadian boat by the name of Meikyo with Mike and Liliane who took part in the Down Under Go West Rally we met in Bundaberg, they arrived this morning.
The photo is me between my Uncle and Aunty with the entrance to the Clarence River in the background.
