Raining on our party
05 January 2017 | Rose Bay, Sydney Harbour, NSW
Cam & Annie "H"
Today we awoke to the sound of rain pattering on our coach roof (the top of our boat)and apart from New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day the weather has either been windy or wet or both, so today it will be a day of boat jobs on the inside. The good news is Annecam should be clean; there should be no more salt on our decks.
The first job has already been completed and that was a blocked valve in the forward head (the toilet). The pump was refusing to pump sea water so a quick inspection, stripping it down revealed a good size piece of plaque was holding the one way valve open. All was made right after the plaque was removed and a quick test pump proved that the problem was fixed. Pardon the pun but this sort of boat job is a very sh#tty one haha, just as well I tackled it after breakfast.
The second job of the day was to test our new sport blender that we purchased in Bondi yesterday, so armed with mango, strawberries and some very nice grapes, woohoo we had yummy fruit smoothies for lunch.
The third job was to check the repair on our dinghy where the water was getting into the aluminium hull, so far so good we have a dry dinghy, let’s hope it stays that way as it is not very comfortable stepping into a dinghy that is half full of sea water and even worse trying to keep groceries dry getting them back to Annecam.
There is always some little boat job that requires attention, some are rather urgent and others can wait until we are in the right place at the right time.
The photo is a screen shot of the weather radar located at Terry Hills, the shaded darker blue areas are the rain that covers from Manly to Sydney Airport and we are about halfway between the two.
Life is good on Annecam, living in the slow lane.
