Annie and Cam "H"
We sailed Annecam up the East coast of Australia as far as Cairns, day sailing the whole way, stopping in as many anchorages and Islands as we could safely get to. After seventeen days anchored in Trinity Inlet catching up with friends and one of my Cousins we started our journey South.
Once again, we stopped at as many anchorages and Islands as we could safely get to only this time we made it a point of stopping in different places to the ones we stopped at on the way up. There were a few spots we stopped in on the way up and again on the way down but not that many.
Our longest stop in any one place after leaving Cairns was eight nights in Cid Harbour on Whitsunday Island. The other sixteen locations we have stopped in for one or two nights before moving on.
We are now anchored in a bay called Port Clinton on the Capricorn Coast, Port Clinton is part of the Shoalwater Bay, Australian Defence Forces live firing range, as I write this blog we can hear explosions in the distance. They also conduct live firing several times each year that effects shipping in the area. We keep a watch out on the Notices to Mariners and listen to the local Coast Guard and Marine Rescue radio announcements, we usually get twenty-eight days prior warning.
We plan to anchor in a few more places before we stop for the summer in the Bundaberg, Hervey Bay area.
The photo is our East coast track with the locations we have stopped at.
