Stodgy Or Dodgy?

After second round of chemo Jan is tolerating very well and her prognosis remains excellent. Expect to permanently blow this popsicle stand as soon as possible, perhaps December. Meantime expect to temporarily blow this popsicle stand as soon as possible.

Unfortunately it's mighty hard to get anywhere from Darwin, it being at the arse end of the continent. However and notwithstanding former suspicion that stifling heat and humidity would last forever, weather has turned beautiful. Every day is nearly perfect: cool nights with warm days under blue skies and always some breeze. This could be paradise but for a couple of issues (issues are much like problems only more au courant). To begin, Darwin is the arse end of the continent - previously mentioned, self explanatory. The most important consideration, somewhat related to the first however, is that we know what to expect every day. No adrenaline pumping leaps into uncertainty here. No surprises over the near horizon to keep one on his tiptoes. No anticipatory excitement to see what weird crap will happen next. Every day is like every other with minor variation. It's just like being a dirtling and, like following the lead dog, the view never changes. We ran away from home to avoid this sort of thing.

As previous entry two plus weeks ago suggests this sailing blog is degenerating into a non-sailing bog because, while we are surrounded by sailboats, an abundance of boat related paraphernalia and water, there is no actual sailing involved. Not sure how to handle that. Could share numerous incredibly perspicacious insights into the human condition that would make the world a better place if anyone paid attention (this would be the potential flaw in an otherwise boffo plan), but that might incite the murder.. that is to say justifiable homicide.. of too many politicians, lawyers and do-gooders. Don't want that on my conscience. On the other hand it could be like the election of America's new POTUS: really, really bad, but pretty darned entertaining. Who knows, they both might even occasion some benefit. Have to give it the odd ponder.
