During circumnavigation of the island Friday, stopped for lunch at La Case Volcan below the active Piton de la Fournaise, which erupts regularly. The deal there is that you get a sample tray of the full menu including several beverages and determine your preferences after a taste test. They can't use the food again so you can eat it all. Great idea except you're full before ordering yet feel obligated to a full meal. Food is excellent, price is reasonable, diet goes in the dumper. Propose blaming them rather than daily ingestion of pain au chocolat for return of kilos.
Had generally beautiful weather until Friday, but wet season may now have arrived. Forecast for heavy precipitation all day eventuated (huh?), which resulted in no exterior work... awwwww! Except for a trip out for groceries and wine with new friends (Americans in a French country on a French boat with a French name, Liberte - doesn't seem right does it?) getting well soaked in the process, have cocooned ourselves in the boat with internet and dehumidifying air conditioner awaiting happy hour to help relieve effects from the ennui of cabin fever. Gusty winds accompanying inclement weather are causing boat to dance around in its slip promising a more generous sensation of tipsiness.
