Punitive Wars

Waterworks works. We're free. Well, except for all the other items that can't
possibly get done in another day. This may be blamed on Newton's first law of
motion. Sometimes it takes a lot of energy to get apples to fall off a tree.
If Isaac had been hit by a potato the laws would be much different and we'd be
gone. (Don't even try to make sense of that.)
However, our sleeping location has been moved to middle cabin bunk beds and V-
berth loaded with downwind and emergency sails set for deployment through
overhead hatch. Under-sole compartments have been filled, floorboards screwed
down and carpets re-laid. Systems are checked operational, bottom is cleaned
and tanks are filled. Weather is good. Now all that's necessary, besides
removing awning, returning borrowed car, settling up with marina and, no doubt,
several other activities that haven't yet been thought of, is getting a massive
amount of stuff secured or thrown away. Guessing it will take until Tuesday.
SV Freezing Rain is twenty years old and interior looks new. Carpets protect
the sole, fitted covers keep upholstery perfect and Marie obsessively cleans.
SV Anthem is twenty five years old and looks like it went through the Punic
Wars. We're not terribly meticulous. Perhaps after renovation the urge will
manifest. Probably not.
