Tediousity

We are being protected against potential attack from Indonesia and
Malaysia by the Singapore Air Force. "What?" you may ask. They have
an air force? Indeed they do. It's the most technologically advanced
and powerful air force in the region. They have two hundred thirty
five aircraft including C-130s, attack helicopters, advanced F-15 and
F-16 fighters with F-35s on order. There are four bases on the island
and detachments in, among other places, North America, Australia and
Europe. Who knew? The associated museum is our project for the day.
Don't think it will overshadow the one at Wright-Patterson, but should
be fun and may bolster our sense of safety from any potential threats
by the Sultan of Brunei.
Ken was obliged for actual work today, so couldn't meet us at Molly
Malone's Irish Pub. Deferred until such time as... Patronized Guinn's
Irish in lieu. Good lamb and always excellent Kilkenny and Magnus
cider. Small place, empty. Patrons probably deferring until tomorrow
for live music.
Wednesday
Jan has a cold. Bad mojo for surgery. Doc may not operate Monday if
she's very sick. Brought her breakfast, then we went out for a quick
local dinner, otherwise chillin' in the bunk. We loves our sloth...
well, one of us anyway.
IPhone has been reluctant to charge recently, so left Jan fending for
herself to keep Apple Store reservation. Against all conceivable
expectation they were able to fix the thing so no new phone in
immediate future. It's an Xs, thus four generations out of date, but
someone was too cheap to buy a later model. Probably won't support
next iOS update. Otherwise works great and love it, except battery
lasts barely half a day. Probably requires a model thirteen to get
decent longevity. It can charge wirelessly, so that's an option if
lightning plug actually goes to glory.
Friday
Bored out of our skulls. Even the finest of deadly sins can be
burdensome. However, puny crew feeling somewhat better so went to
Starbucks for minimal breakfast and now scheduled at Molly's (see
above) to meet Antares crew for early drinks/dinner. Some of us are
suffering an Irish ale deficiency.
If no excitement during weekend, may revert to political or
philosophical maunderings to fill the time and space. Nobody wants
that.
