Finding Time

Wait! It's 2023? Must have snuck (real word) up on us. Seems 2022 whisked by with nary a notice. In fairness, did a huge amount of stuff, but must have happened all at once between nearly synonymous beginning and end. Where does the time go? Think we may slow the clock this year to spread out even more adventure and have it last a bit longer. Seems the older people get the faster they get older. Doesn't seem fair.
Lovely affair with mates at Molly's last evening, but early night so princess could get plenty of rest. Want her bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for Monday afternoon's medical merriment. Speaking of colds, she's feeling better and rest of crew has sniffles. Also not fair? Better this way.
We've been watching episodes of NBCs Blacklist on Netflix. Main characters are played sympathetically but even the best are miserable human beings who should rightfully be in prison, many for capital crimes. The series depicts a world where remorseless killing and torture are sanctioned or committed by the FBI, cover-ups of horrendous immorality and illegality are normal and murdering friends, associates and people who might reveal corruption (along with some really bad guys) is justified. It glorifies activity that should and would inspire disbelieving outrage in real life. It's fascinating to watch a universe where stratospherically unacceptable behavior is commonplace. Even worse than the John Wick series, which I also enjoyed, because it's more insidiously dystopian. It also ignores how actual humans act by manipulating plots so severely that it's unbelievable and virtually a live action cartoon that demands suspending a belief in reality. James Spader as the central character is excellent and season 10 is in the works. There is vanishingly little sailing involved.
"Time is that quality of nature which keeps events from happening all at once. Lately it doesn't seem to be working."
