Packing It On
28 October 2024 | En Route Hampton
Monday 28 October 2024
Short night at Deltaville, now off again. Lots there (you know: coffee
shops, restaurants, pubs and then some inconsequential stuff) and would
have stayed a day, but wind turns south tomorrow. Almost calm today,
but at least not adverse. We're in a parade departing this very
protected anchorage. Assume everyone is heading south as it was
cooooold this morning with little chance of getting warmer. Where's
Indian Summer when you need it? Could mention global warming, but that
would just annoy everyone, so won't.
Although we've successfully used general delivery at local post
offices, being at dock allows more flexibility and convenience, albeit
for a price. Current count of items going to marina in Portsmouth,
where we leave boat for doctor checkups in St. Pete, is fifteen.
Yowzer! Where to jam it all? We procrastinate dumping unused or
useless crap we drag around for years so we're full of it... OK, that
too, but you know what I mean.
Expect to be on the hook by 1600. Could go into Hampton for a wee dram
and greasy pub grub, but Jan has thawed some lamb chops, so it's home
tonight with early season eggnog and final two episodes of The Ranch.
Good thing eggnog only comes once a year or my willowy physique would
soon become a Madagascar baobab.
