Hexham Island

Peter and Francois headed off at 4:45 a.m. and hit a 3 meter sea. It was extremely uncomfortable. I recall getting thrown across the room as I tried to get dressed. Oh, well, what's another bruise!!!! It was too rough to even get breakfast. At around 9:00 I scrambled below and grabbed dry biscuits and cheese which kept us going for a while. The next four hours were rough and very uncomfortable. We reached Hexham Island around 5:00p.m. Thankfully the seas had abated slightly in the last 2 hours of the journey. The island was extremely beautiful with stunning rock formations and a beautiful beach. We were too exhausted to lower the dinghy and explore. We stayed on board and fell into a restless sleep and the rocking and swirling of the boat made it necessary for us to stay alert. Oh well it will be better in the Whitsundays!
