Digby Island

Peter went ashore to Middle Percy to add to the impressive collection of memorabilia from yachting visitors by leaving a small round fender with details of our boat and crew. You never know, we may return one day and find it.
Soon after we left and headed for Digby Island. We were sad to leave these beautiful islands. There was something very magical about them.
The seas were very calm which made it very easy to see a whale in the distance. However, that also meant there was no wind so once again we had to motor. The island group was spectacular with unusual rock formations and untouched beauty. We were the only yacht there which made it very special.
Peter, Francois and I climbed a jagged rock face and tried to walk across the top of the range but couldn't move forward because of the thick undergrowth. So, we had to be satisfied with walking along the beach which was scattered with boulders of different sizes.
Unfortunately, the wind changed to the north-west which exposed us to a rather nasty wind wave throughout the night.
We all had very little sleep. Mackay, here we come!!!!
