Northeast Harbor

11 August 2010 | Acadia National Park
Three nights is definitely not enough. Plenty of moorings @ $30 a night. We should have stayed 10 nights. There is so much to do here.
Our first trip on the FREE Island Express was to Bar Harbor. Great town, no wonder the cruise ships stop here. The Quarterdeck restaurant food sucked. I ordered a Lobster Bisque and got soup from a can. I didn't expect this in Bar Harbor, Maine. The shopping is second to Freeport.
Explored the Village of Northeast Harbor. A lot of unique boutiques including the biggest kitchen supply store I've seen in a while.
Took a Horse and Carriage ride in the park. Superb. This was the bridge tour, exploring the bridges that were built by John D. Rock for carriage roads by Italian immigrants in early 1900's. Had lunch at The Jordan Pond House. Great food and service for an establishment this size.
