Aramis turned south at 5:30 AM Pacific time this morning after a calm but cold passage down the Straight of Juan de Fuca. It was a little lumpy by Cape Flattery with the wind briefly rising to 20 knots. Seas are calm this morning and we are motor sailing at about seven knots following the route provided by the weather router. The eastern sky has just turned pink over the Olympic Mountains in anticipation of sunrise. We are looking forward to a little warmth from that event ourselves and the opportunity to shed at least one layer of fleece.
