Hanging out in Trinidad getting ready to haul out

We just spent a very pleasant two weeks in the Coral Cove Marina in Chaguaramas, Trinidad. We have rented bikes and most often we began our day with a few hour bike ride that usually involved a big hill. The rest of the day we did our boat chores in preparation for hauling the boat out of the water for the season. We removed the sails and took them to the sail loft for inspection and repair, Hunter serviced the outboard motor (changed the lubrication in the lower unit, changed the impellor etc) and put it to bed for the season. I cleaned out most of the lockers and sorted through the food and wiped down the inside of the boat. Pretty boring stuff, but you need to do these chores once a year.
On two occasions we biked to Macuripe Bay (about 5 miles), swam for 40 minutes and biked back to the boat. One day while biking through the golf course we heard and then saw a troop of howler monkeys. Each outing provided something special.
We had several friends staying at Coral Cove so there was lots of socializing and informal visiting. It is a nice way to end a cruising season.
We went to the Wheel House Pub for the swordfish dinner and these two plates were the portion for one person- price 100 tt dollars ($16 US). The left overs fed us for two more meals.
