Day 7 New Bern to Atlantic Beach

We got an early start this morning and took turns leading. We each "pulled" for five minutes while the other one drafted. The course was nearly flat and we made great time. The town of Swansboro gave us a warm welcome with a small band that was singing one of my favorite Harry Bellefonte songs- Kingstown:
Down the way, where the nights are gay,
and the sun shines daily on the mountain top,
I took a trip on a sailing ship,
and when I reach Jamaica I made a stop.
More toe tapping and pb&J.
We peddled fast trying to ignore sore seats, swapping the lead every five minutes. Brooke and Pat greeted us at the finish line. After a last shower in the Rubber Duck trailer and meal we headed to Stan and Pat's house in Oriental, NC to celebrate finishing the ride.
