Living Largo in Slip 04

CRIME SCENE: ARIA
Everyone has really rallied around my misfortune, and whatever bad feelings I had of Nassau have been swept away by an outpouring of concern, official action and generosity. So far, I've given two formal statements, and a detective actually showed up to dust for fingerprints! They have a suspect, who goes by the name, Spiderman. (I wonder if he gave himself that name.) He hit another boat on my dock and got $1,000 cash from a wallet. Authorities are looking for him. Meanwhile, the resort is going to replace my phone at their cost. I am overwhelmed. What a friendly place!
A MOORING LIFE
After work this morning, I took the dink out, 4nm to Rose Island to go snorkeling. I made it, but I got beat up pretty bad in the harbor chop. I have an RIB, but even on a plane I was getting tossed around pretty good. I wouldn't try it again unless the water was absolutely glassy. There are some reefs off Athol Cay that are closer and more sheltered. I will try them next. But that could be a few days off, as a front is expected to move through tomorrow, and it will be windy for a few days.
The fishermen on "A Salt Weapon" returned from Chub Cay yesterday at sunset, and it was an instant dockside party of the freshest sushi - Wahoo and yellowfin. They're from Mateo, NC, and they've been a blast to hang with (and not just for the fresh fish). I asked them to look over my fishing gear, and they found it lacking, to put it kindly. They have promised to get me set up properly for wahoo (which I've never caught), so I feel very lucky to have such great dock mates.
Mostly, though, I'm waiting, just waiting, for my family to arrive on Wednesday. I miss them all so much. It will be a great reunion and a Thanksgiving for the record books!
NOTE: When I lost my phone I lost my camera, so no new pics till next week.
