A short ferry ride to the picturesque port of Lucaya, Bahamas was an idyllic start for a shopping trip. No traffic jams or parking issues, just a leisurely boat ride, past condos and hotels splashed with an array of colours from an artist's palette. The day offered warm sunlight accompanied by a welcomed breeze. ThaiLyn and I perused the shops with a short list of needed supplies. Our last stop was a booth to collect a rum pina colada for the return trip.
Ed and Peter took pleasure in the refreshing waters of the pool at the Grand Bahama Yacht Club. Ed also studied weather diligently mapping the next stint of our sailing adventure. The life of a real sailor is looming in the near future. Saying goodbye to our luxurious surroundings packed with all manner of creature comforts will be a challenge. Our reality is we have many miles to travel. We also must pay homage to the weather gods and travel at their direction and not at our whim.
An invitation for a candle light dinner watching the setting sun aboard Pelican Rose was greatly appreciated. The meal was delicious, the company stimulating and the conversation boat related. The rum cakes from Tortuga created a collective sigh and a wish that we were currently anchored at that location. Our final destination remains a mystery but in my memory I stored the taste of rum cakes. Another perfect day in Paradise.
