A Way to Make Money?

Lately, the fact that all of our money is going 'out' and none has been coming 'in' has started to bother me. Not a lot, but enough to make me consider creative ways in which we might slacken the tide ebbing from our cruising kitty.

Google has recently introduced a concept known as AdSense. Essentially, it means that any web publisher can make money from ads placed on their site. Unfortunately, Sailblogs already has ads on their site, so I cannot place them here. However, I have an idea for getting around that.

I would like to conduct an experiment to see if we could generate revenue from our sailblog by including the banner below at the end of each posting. It will appear at the bottom of each blog and will redirect readers to a special site where Ad revenue will go directly into the pocket of Team Prudence.

We are certainly not looking to make a living by producing this blog; however, it would be nice to be able to pay for the internet access and fees associated with the blogsite & Flickr account. Please help us by using the 'Click Here' banner below each time you read a blog. Once re-directed to the new site, you will have to click on an Ad by Google (as instructed).

In turn, we will keep you updated on the earnings we produce as a result of this experiment. Thank you for your assistance.

This blog starts in 2005, when we initially had the idea to quit our jobs and live on a sailboat while we cruised to the Caribbean. At that time we had never owned a boat and had no experience sailing. [...]
