Wonderful weather today, and the perfect time to finish the masthead work.
We had to install a replacement wind-indicator at the top of the mast. Tim (a yard worker here at HON) agreed to 'crank' me up the mast in our bowswain's chair... so I could install the indicator.
The old wind-indicator is at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean, somewhere off New Jersey; a casualty of that 46 knot storm we were caught in the way north last year.

While I was up there at the top (60'-9" from the water) I had a chance to take the photos one of which is attached.

the photos I took are looking down at the Autumn Borne (one forward, and one slightly aft). The one forward shows Scott Irwin standing against the dinghy. Scott was tailing the safety line (attached to my bowswains chair). The photo looking aft, shows Susan monitoring the tool bucket line after tailing the main sheet hoisting line (the one that Tim was cranking on).

I did get a chance to lubricate the sheaves in the masthead, and spray-lube the main sail track (on the way down). So All in all...a great day.... BUT it get's better.
Ruth and Matt came down to HON , and joined us and the Pomerhn's (Karyl and Bill) for dinner. It was wonderful having everyone together before we finalize boat prep., and shove off.
Bill and Karyl stopped on their way to Boston MA. COOL!!!
