Good evening... we're now anchored at Mile Hammock Bay at Camp LeJune (Marine Base in NC).
The location, for those keeping track is N34 33.075 W 077 19.536 (I'll put that in the blog page map in a bit).

We must be making progress... It is warmer... slightly, but the butter is still not melting....
We saw our First Pelican today while coming into Beaufort NC. AND... the first dolphins to play with bow wake were also spotted today!!! yeah !!!!

Today, inside the bimini-dodge, it was actually HOT! (knock on wood)... NICE!!! first time in a long time we began to "take off clothes"....

We called Phil Macmillen this morning (our friend from HON single-handing a Jeanneau 47). He's still up in the far end of the Sassafras River... with his rudder problem... The plan was for the boat to be put on land today.... However, it turns out that the top of the Sassafras is not made for sailing vessels with deep draft... as he's basically sitting on the bottom, in the mud, except at HIGH tide... so hauling had to be delayed until the marina workboat can move s/v Acadia to the haulout slip.
:( Bummer.

We've heard from a lot of cruisers via email, and phone... It's nice to hear where everyone is located...and where they rode out "Sandy"...etc. We're all moving South, but at greatly different rates... Some, like Bill and Laura, on S/v Second Wind, are outside, and going like 'hell'... (their business in FL is waiting for them... Chartering). The Poolers (Joe, and Deb) are still in Maine, and awaiting the nor'easter... (their boat is waiting for them in Deltaville VA......BRRRRRR).
