Although it was wonderful sitting on the "Porch" (aft deck) this morning with coffee...watching the sunrise, the news is filled with
wild weather in the mid-states... snows, and tornados, and storms moving eastward... It's not exactly encourgaging us to move northward, with any haste.

It's supposed to be intermittant storms here all weekend... in Miami Beach... but we have rain gear... No Problem.
and where we're anchored right now.... (at the north end of the Sunset Islands and north of the Venetian Causeway... the waters are flat, and
calm... very nicely protected from all but a west wind... (rare for here).

Yesterday when we left the mooring field at Dinner Key... there were 2 to 3 foot waves rolling through the mooring field.... It doesn't affect the AB that badly, weighing nearly 20 tons, but it makes going anywhere in the dinghy sort of a challenge.

Being on the "hook" is more or less free.... moorings cost about $20/day... which includes services we rarely use, except for the laundry.

BTW... that Mar-pro paint that Westland's Rick sold us....so far has been GREAT! (there's no growth on the bottom at all...) The prop. shaft cutter also did it's job, when we were sailing up the Hawk.... (I mentioned slowing from 5.5 knots to 2.6 after running over a crab pot)... Well the prop and shaft are clear of lines, and debris.... Yeah!

OK... time for the Cruiseheimer's Net (8152 kHz USB)... and breakfast... Last night we heard our friends from Buffalo on two trawlers anchor around the bend from us... (p/v Lady Lee, and p/v BelMar).
Perhaps we'll take the dinghy over and see how they're doing, after breakfast.
