HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!

23 NOV 2017 -- Happy Thanksgiving to ALL -- from St. Mary’s GA
These Last two days have been such a push to get here, to St. Mary’s GA for the festivities, I think I forgot to post yesterday…. SO… HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL from the Perry’s and Autumn Borne!!
Yesterday we were in Lanier GA N 31 09.700 W 081 25.231 -- after 27 miles of travel…
Pea Soup FOG came in the morning; but we couldn’t really WAIT for the fog to lift or blow off
Or Dalmatian couldn’t get under the Bridge at Jekkle Island. So…we went across St. Simon’s Sound using a lot of RADAR watching…
We then scooted down through the shallow areas of Jekkle Island….ICW… and across Jekkle sound, and to Cumberland… the wild horses of Cumberland Island came out to greet us…. NICE… (munching on the salt marsh grass…).
We arrived at St. Mary’s GA, and anchored just in time to get the full affect of the “St. Mary’s DANCE”… boats swinging everywhere; some dragging anchor; some collisions; i.e. chaos in the anchorage.
Today it’s raining, but no “DANCE”. Everyone spread out…. And got their anchoring straight. (I hope).
This morning during the VHF Radio NET at St. Mary’s Lynn Harding, and two gentlemen came, via power boat, delivering Bloody Mary drinks to everyone in the anchorage…. NICE TRADITION!!! (See attached PIC)
OH…. I forgot…. Yesterday, when we arrived, Marylou called the Yacht club for rides to shopping; and who shows up to drive to the store, but a gentleman named Bob. WELL… it turns out Bob was a LRRP (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol) at the same time, and in the same area that I was IN VietNam.
Needless to say we had a lot in common, and talked nearly the entire time we were out shopping. My apologies should be issued to those that were with the two of us, (Although I’ll bet some of the stories were interesting…to those who hadn’t been involved….).
OK… WELL… have to go and cook the “dish to pass”. We’ve been “assigned” a “rice dish, and butter”… That’s what we have to bring to the dinner this PM.

Wonderful time at a Finger-Lakes wine tasting tour, organized by our daughter, Ruth.
The tour was followed by a B-day celebration, and dinner at a local restaurant.
Friends, and Relatives gathered from all over NY, and PA. GREAT TIME !!!
