Touristy DAY at St. Augustine

27 November 2017 | ST Augustine
Monday - 27 NOV 2017 Touristy things in St. Augustine
Today was a "touristy type of day".... Susan had won tickets for a whole bunch of things last year, when we stopped here in St. Augustine...(at a funding party for homeless veterans).... Anyway... today we used the gift cert. for the Old Town Trolley, and the Wax Museum, and distillery tour, and other STUFF.
FUN day....
This day started on a weird note... I had called early for a pumpout (of the waste tank)....OK... "you're on the list"...they said... SO... I put the "TIP" money on the coaming; loosened the deck fitting; and waited.... An hour or so passed..., I was doing things around the boat, but basically listening for the pumpout boat to come along side....
Nothing... So I called on the VHF again... (perhaps a mis-communication?? Or mistaken Mooring number? ).... The guy that answered the call....said "NO... I pumped you out!! " He seemed very sure... I said " really were in 'stealth' mode... I was listening for the last hour.... HUMMMM". (well it's very complicated to check to see IF it was done or not , so I took him at his word).

So... I went outside, and was working on the dinghy motor, when the shuttle boat passed by with the "pumpout guy" at the helm.... HE took one look at the name on the Boat (AB), and at the mooring number... and realized immediately HE pumped out the wrong vessel.
He turned the shuttle boat around, and promised that he'd be right BACK.... And he did.... Yeah!!
Very nice people here...

SO.... Back to the touristy things.... AT the Distillery.... We tried all sorts of Bourbon, GIN, and RUM... and bought a little of each.... $$$ expensive STOP.... The OLD Town Trolley is one of those touristy things you can HOP off and ON at each of some 20 stops, all throughout St. Augustine.... WELL... we took full advantage of that fact... Spent the entire day... Hopping.
One of the other stops was the WAX Museum.... Very interesting... PICs will be transferred later on that one.
OK...Supper is ready.
