Friday - 9 March 2018 -- Lilly Birthday – Treasure to MOW
This morning was a leisurely morning. Breakfast; listen to the SSB “Cruisers Net”…. And then start the engine, and cast off the mooring lines…. It wasn’t quite High Tide yet… but we were going to get fuel at the Treasure Cay Fuel docks anyway… so that would take ½ hour… and give us a few more inches of tide height…
We had to wait for SEEKER to get their fuel, and one more power boat, that slipped in there without waiting his turn… GRRRRR
But the fueling went well… We couldn’t get water (RO water) because a German cruise boat slipped in ahead of us, and took the only space where the hose could reach…. BUT we’ll collect some rain water over the weekend (coming storms here in Abacos). No problem….
With the 42 gallons of diesel that we took on, AB is full again (mid-ship and Bow tanks)…
We tried to sail to Man-O-War Cay, (about 20 miles down the sea of Abacos…but the wind all but died about ½ hour out of treasure Cay… So it was motor/sail all the way. The good thing about that was that, because we left Treasure so far ahead of the high morning tide, we were actually going to make it to MOW just at High tide, or just slightly after. ANYWAY… it worked out… we’re on a mooring inside the Eastern Harbor…about 100 meters from where we were last year here.
Bob and Connie (s/v Meridith) did us a huge favor, and reserved these balls (for SEEKER and AB) ahead of the time when we could get here…. Paying for them out of their pocket… (re-paid now…) NICE!!!
Nice to have friends like that.
The moorings up at this end of the harbor are MUCH too CLOSE for our taste, but I guess only one boat has been hit by another, and that was because the “PAINTING” boat was a shallow draft TRI-HULL (tri-maran). He’s now gone. Yeah!
We’re at N 26 35.357 W077 00.007 after about 18.6 nm of travel today. Nice day on the water….
Tonight, Susan and I took the dinghy to town, and walked down to the Hibiscus Café, for ice cream (rum raisin, and vanilla…YUMM)
OK… Time to relax, and perhaps watch one TV show…. We’ve figured out how to watch American TV on Susan’s iPhone….
She’s happy… She can watch some of her favorite news programs and NCiS.

and most important: we got to FACE TIME with LILLY our grand-daughter for her Birthday.
