CSY-44 Antigua - Hull 001

Sunday AM -- sprained thumb :(

15 July 2018
Sunday Morning – 15 July 15, 2018
Good Morning… Early rise this AM…
Yesterday, nearly the entire marina disappeared to a birthday party, down in Germantown, NY… so it was fairly quiet here… It was pool time in the afternoon… HOT !! Unfortunately for me, I slipped a bit, and sprained my thumb, on the right hand…. The good thing… I think is that nothing is broken… and everything works… range of motion, etc. It hurts a little in one particular direction…IF I move it that way… (I know….I know… “don’t move it that way!!! “)…
The good thing... Playing guitar does not seem to be effected… (Not sure what that says… the thumb is good… or the playing is so bad you can’t tell… hehehehe )
Yesterday, I accomplished more tasks on getting the new dinghy (“George II”) ready for service… I removed the Bow lines (lock and towing line (painter))… after John Z. and I hauled George I up onto the dock. I had to use our right-angle grinder with cutting wheel to get the locking device off the bow-eye, but it worked like it was going through butter. I don’t know how anyone with a cruising boat could get along without one of these tools on board. It solves so much, and relieves a lot of STRUGGLING…. Just CUT IT OFF, and start with new parts!!!
SO… those items (painter, and locking system) are now on the new dinghy… Yeah!
We spent the evening hours on board a huge Mainship Trawler, docked a few slips from AB… They just arrived yesterday… coming down from Rochester, with a “new to them” trawler… Beautiful boat… They still have a 30 some foot sailing vessel up in Rhode Island, but this will be their ‘retirement’ boat. NICE.
They were asking a lot of questions regarding the Bahamas, Abacos, etc. We were happy to accommodate. NICE folks!!! Wine, and snacks were good, as well... ;)
Our “normal” dockmates (The “Donna Marie”; chubb, and Jamie’s “no Name”; and others) will be back this AM… from Hudson’s Yacht club parties… so the dock will be back to normal occupancy… (looks sort of abandoned at the moment).
OK… time to get more coffee…. And get ON with the day. Have a good ONE!!
