WATER DAY - after spinnaker trouble shooting

Sunday – 31 March 2019 - WATER DAY
WELL… Today didn’t turn out as planned… BUT then again… Days on a cruising vessel hardly ever do turn out exactly as planned…
I mentioned “WATER DAY”, because… I spent a large part of the day under or around AB, IN the water…
It was so CALM today… hardly a ripple on the water; NO WIND at ALL…. OH that brings up the first project of the day…. When we put the spinnaker away (used to get us from Mantanilla Shoal area to Great Sail Cay with no engine, a few weeks ago)… I noticed that pulling down the “ring” on the spinnaker SOCK was a little harder than normal…. SO, today, with no wind to speak of, we re-hung the spinnaker and checked it out…. Then re-packed it with care…
Turns out that the two thin lines that RUN inside the sock and down to the “RING”… ( the Ring collapses the chute, as you pull it down toward the deck of AB), were tangled at the very top of the spinnaker…
(causing increased friction…) We took the multiple twists out of those tiny lines… and tried launching and retrieving the spinnaker again… PERFECT…. YEAH !!! It’s such a beautiful sail, and very useful, in light air situations…
Anyway… that was the above water project… The next involved inspecting, and cleaning up the propeller, and bottom of the AB… We’ve been sitting still TOO long… Even with new bottom paint, we’re getting “slime”… NOT much… but I can see the beginnings…. And the propeller with NO paint (bare bronze).. was definitely in need of POLISHING…. SO I did that…
Inspected the shaft Zinc… and the entire bottom of AB…. OK.
Then I looked at the dinghy… WOW !!! It’s been “in the water” since we got here…. I normally lift it out of the water ever several days… JUST to KILL the growth on the bottom… NOT this time… and IT Showed IT…. It was like a FOREST under there… SO out came the scraper, and now it’s clean again… BUT I should go back to my several day haul it up out of the water routine.
“George” would be much happier… not to mention ME (not having to go under and scrape every week).
Susan joined me in the water in the afternoon… for a gorgeous swim, and a couple laps around the boat.
Crystal clear water was unreal…. NICE DAY….. (with the possible exception of the DUKE / Michigan GAME… Michigan won by 1 point….. ) Insert sad face here….. 
