WED. 10 April 2019 -- MOW - Goodbye to Karen and Robert Davis - Ferry Dock
Sad day in "mudville"... We had to say goodbye to Karen and Robert at the Ferry dock, here at MOW.
But, we did have a fine breakfast with them, and Kathy, and Earl at the café (museum)... at 0830 hours...
Then walked them to the ferry dock...(sort of)... they took luggage by cart... but we walked... Anyway... it was nice goodbye... with hugging, and all that...
Then, as Robert and Karen left on the ferry, the rain started.. so we sat under the roofed area of the ferry office, and literally listened for over an hour to the stories told by Ralph Albrey.... The previous owner of the ferry service, who now works as the chief mechanic for the ferry service...
VERY interesting stories of not only the ferry services, but the island's history... and the folks of this area.
There was a slight break in the rain so we excused ourselves from Ralph... and made our way down to DoCK and DINE (restaurant - not open for lunch yet).... But there was Robert (from "Denmark")... So, as long as the rain had started back up... WE sat with Robert for another HOUR.. talking about everything from Architecture ( HE's an architect back home in the FEROE (spelling?) Islands), to society's problems...
Another interesting HOUR....
Finally we got a decent break in the rain... and beat FEET (well... dinghy motor) for our main boats... and lunch.... And rest...
Tonight, there's a loosely scheduled "cook out and music" on the HM Aubrey (schooner).... Hopefully the rainy weather will have exited the area by then....
OK... time for lunch and REST...............
