Leaving SW and headed to old stomping grounds
25 June 2015 | NE Harbor Farmers Market
Ch/ beautiful cloudless day, strong northern winds
It feels like home to be moored at Billings Marine in Stonington. Leaving SW Harbor was a relief after the waiting out the rain, and waiting for after hours help with our electronics. We decided to zip up to NE Harbor to get a pumpout - an annoying, but necessary task that we have been vigilant to do frequently after that first experience. We were happy to see a farmers market setting up in the parking lot, and quickly made our way over there as soon as it opened. We were rewarded of our environmental ethic with fresh healthy food! We decided to make our way to Deer Isle over the Bass Harbor bar. The only other time we had been over it was years ago borrowing the Golden Buckeye, my dads Parker, to visit Sally Pollak on Swans Island. That time we witnessed the notorious swells over the sand bar when the winds and tides are just right, so we cautiously approached with respect. Due to the northern winds, and the low tide, we glided right by the beautiful lighthouse and forest path we had explored in the past.
