Perspectives in the Wind (and non-wind)

July 4, 2020 didn’t seem like The Fourth of July. Avelinda had some work done and then we needed to do more readying. So after meeting with Zach to exchange Moxie and house sitting plans, we continued to work as we have done for a week. We needed to tune her up, and put the sails back on. The afternoon wore on and we decided it was silly to leave late in the fog. We had a surprisingly calm night at the dock at Yankee Marina with few fireworks We ate dinner, chatted with Rusty and Ketner on FaceTime, and went to sleep.
In the morning it was thick fog so we got up, ate
breakfast and didn’t move super quickly. Ended up motoring to Merriconeag Sound, and sailing a bit for fun around Harpswell and then dropped the hook in good mud readying for a thunder storm. Several other cruisers holed up for the night.
We have very few expectations. The weather is supposed to be quite stormy and foggy this week, but we just yearn to be away
from the news, and would rather be immersed in nature if we need to be isolated. So far so good. All in one’s perspectives: Ours are good at the moment. We understand our privilege and we are grateful for all we have. We intend to give thanks to the wind and to each other (Our-chuthers as young Rusty used to say.)
