BVI - Sandy Spit

Sandy Cay is a very small island of perhaps 25 acres. It has a beautiful sandy beach around its western half, a fringe of palm trees at the edge of the sand, and trails winding through the interior. I'm guessing its owned and controlled by the park service as it's uninhabited. It's a popular day stop for boats and looks every bit a miniature Gilligan's Island.
Nearby is a smaller version of Sandy Cay called Sandy Spit. Sandy Spit is a picture post card come to life. Only 100 yards long or so and ringed completely with brilliant white sand, it supports only a small tuft of trees and shrubs in the center. It is truly the classic deserted island. Adding to the charm is the fact that the shallow water surrounding it is over mostly pure sand making for a colorful scene that is hard to stop photographing. We stayed several nights here not wanting to leave. A watermaker, an internet connection, and a nearby grocery and maybe we could stay forever.
This picture is now with Corbis, one of my stock photo agents. I have others on my own site here: http://www.bryan-allen.com/
