Having more or less discovered what our spring work will be, we enjoyed seeing Sanctuary out of the water. She really belongs in the water, but every skipper and crew should know what the bottom looks like especially for shallow cruising areas like the Chesapeake. Jeremiah (great-grandson) helped with our inspection, but he seems to like boats on land better than floating. I know one thing, although the nearly five-foot draft is moderate by modern standards, with a high freeboard it is still nine feet up to the deck when she is up on the stands -- dang near need to go on oxygen at that altitude; higher than either Wings or Le Refuge.

"Sanctuary," is esthetically better maintained than "Wings" (our previous Bristol 24) and of course noticeably larger, with two foot wider beam and almost six more feet of length, but not so large we've fallen into a large maintenance trap -- we hope. Despite a metaphoric barnacle or two, [...]
