MegaYacht Alley

We've now been in Tahiti almost 2weeks and have accomplished most of our boat projects and provisioning. Also, Tori has been here about a week and we've enjoyed some sightseeing and just hanging out with her. A couple of nights ago we went to the central square in Papeete where the Roulettes (Food Trucks) all gather in a sort of roach coach bazar. Actually, the food was diverse and quite good so we sampled as many as we could hold. The last few days have been stormy (25-30 kts + heavy rain), which was exciting for me playing with the moorings on Bangorang and a big 58 foot cat next to us, trying to keep us both from swinging into the concrete wharf. However, that also meant an inside day on the boat for the girls. They seemed to be keeping busy and making the best of it. we are moored on the outside of the mainquay and are surrounded by absolutely enormous megayachts. Most are sailing yachts well in excess of 100 ft and just gorgeous. Of course, there is an army of fit young sailors constantly grooming these beauties. I'll try to get some photos of these yachts soon, but I'm a little behind in uploading to the galleries. I have however, just uploaded some fresh photos to the galleries marked Marquesas and Tuamotus if you're interested in some fresh pics. Here's one from Fakarava with this post.
