After a wet and windy 2 days in Cooks bay we moved the short distance over to Opunohu bay. This was a lot quieter, albeit with fewer facilities. Nevertheless this was a lovely spot and secure anchorage. From here we explored by dinghy out into the lagoon where we found the ray and shark feeding station. This was a sandy bar in about 4 ft crystal clear water, where you could feed and swim with dozens of stingrays and small black tip reef sharks. They were quite unafraid, but not really aggressive. Oddly, the sharks seemed to defer to the rays when feeding, but the assorted reef fishes just darted in anywhere they could.
