Third day into our passage to American Samoa and all is well aboard Bangorang. The weather has been pleasant, but the winds light at ~8-10 kts. There is also a strong northery component which has motivated several sail changes between spinnakers and jib. The forecast suggests the easterly trades should build a bit a stabilize over the next few days. That'd be nice since this is looking like a slow passage in these conditions. Last night a seabird crashed into the boat in several attempts to land on the bimini. Once he succeeded we agreed to let him stay and rest for his trouble. In gratitude he left a mess of guano all over the cockpit cushions... It's now open season on sea birds! Did Wendy mention that I caught a marlin yesterday? It must've been nearly as long as the boat! Sadly Wendy never saw it...
