Port Denarau

We arrived in Port Denarau in calm and sunny conditions and picked up a mooring in the marina harbor. What a difference it makes being in the lee of the main island Viti Levu. Denarau was much as we remembered from last year and we wasted no time revisiting our favorite places and getting some boat projects done (there are 3 chandleries here!). This year there was a new yacht club, which was very nice and fire dancing demonstrations in the evenings. We also made several trips by bus into Nadi for shopping at the veggie market and to see a movie in the new cinema. One day we hired a taxi to drive us to a local hot springs/mud bath near Leutoka where we spent a pleasant afternoon mudding and massaging. After 10 days on the mooring, yes time slips away, we moved onto the dock for 2 days to charge batteries and wash the boat. After 3 months on the hook or at sea, the abundant water and power were a treat. Finally, it was time to move on to Musket Cove where we were joining up with the ICA Rally for the passage to Vanuatu and then New Caledonia.
