Dolphin Mania

Hello fellow Earth travelers. Another pleasant day of sailing here for the crew of Bangorang. The wind picked up a little and started coming from the north east at ~15-18 knots, so it is a little lumpy but far from the worst we have had since leaving New Zealand. Last night the stars were out in legions and was one of the first where we didn't get turned all about by squalls and weird weather patterns, so everyone got a pretty good amount of sleep. Just before noon today we had a pod of about 30 dolphins come and hang out with us for a while. We busted out the go-pros and went out on deck to try and get some action shots. I thought it would be cool to lie face forward on the front nets and get my go-pro down in the water with them. It seemed to be working until we ran right into a rather steep little wave and I simultaneously got my nasal cavities thoroughly rinsed and ripped the buttons off my swim trunks....but hey, at least I didn't lose the go-pro. Little victories. We should be passing the equator in the next couple days. Its pretty cool to think that I was with this boat when we first sailed it across the equator to take it out here, and now I get to help bring it home. Time to bust out the rum!! -Gavin
