The For Sale ad boasts : "
Saline is well-known for its mangrove, large salt pond, wild goats and its wide variety of birds and fish. It is also the nesting place for sea turtles. A two- bedroom beach house faces a shallow lagoon with its varying shades of blue. An ancient but sturdy relic of a lime kiln stands as a perpetual reminder of the island's history.
The breath-taking view of the surrounding islands, its extraordinarily white sandy beaches, sloping hills, numerous fish and mollusks, sheltered bay ideal for yacht moorage all make this island a perfect paradise for secluded, exotic get-away."
We navigated dinghy through some corally bits and spotting a sandy thorough fare we landed ashore,
a nice beach, wouldn't you say?
Here's the
extraordinarily beautiful shallow lagoon with varying shades of blue.
and here's
the mangroves
home to just a few mosquitos that came by to greet us biting welcome at sunset.
As for the Beach House, we were surprised to see it had a fence, nice touch!
Here it is, rustic and wooden and beautifully landscaped.
In need of some minor repairs, perhaps. Real Estate lingo might suggest it's a fixer upper?
but just look at the view from your front porch !!
We walked onwards in the blaring heat of the afternoon sun, dodging the millions of wasps that were curious about us, and came across this.
all part of the
fine landscape of the white sandy beaches.
We saw this,
must be the
ancient but sturdy relic of a lime kiln.
And look, staged for potential buyers, what a nice touch !!
All in an effort to make sure things looked real nice and purty,
We walked around a bit,
making sure we got a view from all sides, you know how important that is, right?
Climbed to the top,
and back down again, coming to the back of the kiln,
and noticed this.
Zooming in,
because we had to make sure there were no freeloading critters living here, right?
And oh, the
sheltered bay ideal for yacht moorage that was mentioned in the ad? We would definitely agree.
Now we didn't walk to the large Salt Pond, and we didn't come across any goats. Nor we did hike up the amazing look steep rock to get the best views of the place,
but we did note that the ad didn't mention the picture perfect Green Flashes you just might see.
Now, just a wee reminder. That was 19.5 MILLION U.S. dollars. Would you buy it?
