Made landfall at Taormina on Sicily. Loved coming in at dawn with Mount Etna smoking in the background. The bay has a good anchorage so no need for marinas etc... Enjoyed a breakfast drink to celebrate the crossing and then dozed for a bit before enjoying good swimming in the very warm sea, and taking in the ambiance. The contrast from Greece could not be greater. Steep green mountains. This side of the coast is a long string of development. Took a walk through Taormina into Giardini Naxos - nothing was open on a Sunday afternoon but the traffic noise was a shock. Not somewhere we will stay long in (let's put it that way!). Dinner on board and ready for the Straits of Messina tomorrow.
