Lounging in Lanzarote
24 October 2017 | Arrecife, Lanzarote
Ahh - the sleep of the innocent. Crew now fully rested. The photo is the crew arriving last night off Lanzarote - the wee birdie is just off camera :-)
The scores on the doors:
- distance run - 569 miles
- top wind speed - 31.5 kts
- top boat speed - 9.7 kts
- biggest swell - 4 metres (estimated)
- hitch-hikers (wee birdies) - 3
- shooting stars - loads
- planets rising (confused for ships' navigation lights) - several
- bread, scones and pancakes - delicious
- chunders - 2
- water used - 104 inc showers (useful for calibrating our transatlantic needs)
- teabags used - 61 versus plan of 60 - the search for the guilty continues
The marina is good - very sheltered and all the facilities we could need, though it was a very tight entry into our berth at 9pm. The nearest shops to our berth include the sexy underwear shop and the chandlery, so I guess we are all sorted.
So today we will have a day off and then tomorrow we will start to enjoy Lanzarote. We don't want to get to Las Palmas too soon, so we are planning a couple of days out looking at volcanoes, lava, etc... It's a good thing we brought our own resident geologist (PhD).
Some great boats here - many set up for distance, and a couple flying ARC flags - must go for a good inspection of the fleet.
