After a wild and blustery night, we ended our visit to Charleston with a quick re-provision, re-watering and re-fueling and then headed back out onto the ICW trail. Charleston was a hit. It would be nice to think we will go back there one day, but who knows.

The main thing to say about today is that it was seriously cold. So cold, in fact, that we really took very little interest in the beautiful wilderness through which we voyaged, hardly noticed the amazing houses tucked away in the woods and barely even recognised the pelicans, egrets, dolphins and other natural wonders that crossed our paths. We were far more interested in putting on more and more layers of clothing and making hot drinks to stave off the cold blur that was today.

We anchored up a quiet marshy creek about a mile off the main drag; it would have been idyllic to sit on deck with a drink and watch the sun go down whilst counting off the birdlife but instead we went below, battened down the hatches and turned the heating on!
