UPDATE! AHOY!! From the Philippines!

I'm STILL in zamboanga... working.... Every time I think I'm heading back to get JUNESSA ready for the next grand adventure, WORK pops up again and again! ugh!

I'm back at work for 6 more weeks...

I always thought it would be EASY to quit work and sail into the sunset... I tell ya what... It's not as easy as it seems!!! When you have a good paying job and life is bearable, it really is hard to quit for the UNKNOWN!

I have all the sailing videos, all the sailing books (JUNESSA's waterline shows how much weight is on board!) and I read (look at the pictures) of all the sailing magazines. They all have a common theme "Go NOW!" or "Keep it simple and Go NOW!" I need to heed their advice and cut the dock lines and GO!!!!!!

THE BOAT

Here's a few shots of my 1985 28 foot Bristol Channel Cutter (BCC) built in Vancouver, BC. She's a full keel fiberglass hull with teak and mahogany wood throughout. She's powered by a Volvo 28hp diesel.

First Day Out

I had a great day learning how to sail my BCC. The learning curve was a little steeper than I had anticipated. The day ended pretty crappy... I couldn't get the engine out of gear and I plowed into the back side of a large powerboat in the slip next to me. OUCH!

New Owner

This was the first day on board Junessa. I looked in every corner on board and climbed to the top of the mast! I had Chinese food and Corona Beer then feel asleep to some beautiful candle light and music.
