EAGLES AND SALMON

22 July 2009 | Prince Rupert, BC

I made it to Prince Rupert B.C.!!!

It sure seems like the return trip is going alot FASTER!!! :( I need to slow down or make more stops... I'm moored at the Prince Rupert Yacht Club getting the crap beat out of me!!! They don't have any break-walls, so every boat that goes by pounds all the boats tied up here! The only time I've been queazy the whole trip is tied up to this dock! :( I'm debating on just going to find someplace to anchor!

I refilled the propane tanks, got the oven to work (burnt some rolls already!) and making plans for a shower... :)- I was going to move over to the fuel dock and fill up the tanks, but Prince Rupert has ONE fuel dock located about 100 yards from me and there is a steady stream of fishing boats fighting over who's next in line for fuel... I don't think they would take to kindly to having a yachtie eating up their fishing time....

Man this boat is bucking like a bronco.... uck! gotta get off the boat before I hurllllllllllllllll.........

Here's a few shots of prepping the boat for the long ride NORTH to Gig Harbor, Wa. It took about 5 hours to prep and load her up.

Here's a few shots of my 1985 28 foot Bristol Channel Cutter (BCC) built in Vancouver, BC. She's a full keel fiberglass hull with teak and mahogany wood throughout. She's powered by a Volvo 28hp diesel.

I had a great day learning how to sail my BCC. The learning curve was a little steeper than I had anticipated. The day ended pretty crappy... I couldn't get the engine out of gear and I plowed into the back side of a large powerboat in the slip next to me. OUCH!

This was the first day on board Junessa. I looked in every corner on board and climbed to the top of the mast! I had Chinese food and Corona Beer then feel asleep to some beautiful candle light and music.
