09/17.. again the 0 dark 30 start. We are now however fully rigged and sail ready. south winds made for another day of motoring all the way to the Haverstraw anchorage . a long day but again mostly scenic.

09/18. slept in a little but needed to hit the narrows in NYC before 16:00 in order to ride the tide out of NY harbor. NY Harbor proved to be the expected obstacle course of ferries, water taxis, tour boats, recreation craft and shipping and cruise ships. Fun to see but happy to be moving on through.
09/19
We made it through NY harbor and are now anchored off Atlantic Highlands waiting out the heavy rain and forecasted squalls. Wednesday looks like the beginning of the weather window we need in order to do the Jersey coast off shore in one hop. As we are now in salt water I took advantage of the heavy rain to scrub down the boat . Probably looked like a nut but it worked and didn't use any of our onboard water.
