Black Point, Port Essington
12 August 2011
Well all our praying must have paid off as we ended up with a nice gentle breeze that allowed us to make the 62NM through the Bowen Straight (with the tide in our favour again - yipppeee) and on to Black Point at Port Essington, our last stop in Arnhem Land before we try for Darwin. Kieran’s school work was a real battle today with both Chris and I at a loss to motivate him, a stark contrast to Drina. I think sailing all day every day has finally caught up with us and we all need a break. Kieran was keen to go aloft in the bosuns chair and we gladly sent him up the mast once we were at anchor - a good distance between us that we all readily welcomed.
