Wary Bay was only rated as a day anchorage so after visiting the caves we up anchored and headed a mere 6NM further down the Island to Boomerang Bay that had been shown in the WA Cruising Guide as providing reasonable protection. On entering the Bay we were disappointed to discover that the Guide book was again wrong and the way point for the anchorage would have placed us beyond an unmarked rocky outcrop and amongst the shallows which if we had pursued would have left us in a nasty predicament. We cautiously anchored on the outskirts of the bay where there was minimal protection, but were thankful for the lack of either swell or breeze which made our chosen anchorage ok. Another note was added to the WA Cruising guide! Chris and Kieran tried their luck at fishing but were unsuccessful so it was chicken for dinner tonight. Our freezer supplies are starting to dwindle so I’m hoping we have better luck at fishing as we move on.
