Another Taste of Mexico
This is a photo from back in 2008, the first time Journey went cruising to Mexico. The boat was full and overflowing with guests come to wish us Bon Voyage before we set off on our travels. It is a memory we still cherish.

With one-third of the trip north completed, the good news is that we haven't really been 'bashed' much at all. Crocodiles at Chamela
I've already mentioned our six-mile beach walk and exploring the village of Perula. Near the beach is a fresh-water river and we could see some signs near a small clearing. No fences or barriers, but the photo here shows why they had warning signs!!!
On another day we visited a couple of the small national park island in the middle of the bay. Jeff moved the boat single-handed and anchored off Isla Pajarera. I kayaked out to meet him. The snorkeling was the best since Isla Isabella. Both islands had small beaches so we could land the dinghy and poke around. It seemed that one island was the territory of the boobie birds while the other was inhabited by pelicans. Both were very rocky and covered with scrub brush and cactus.
By late afternoon we were back anchored off Perula again. We found some good snorkeling there too. And Jeff took off in the dinghy with his fishing rod and came back with a nice sized rock fish. We had fish tacos last night.
Since our stay here was so long, we were on hand to welcome old friends when they also sailed into the bay. One evening we filled the cockpit with almost a dozen bodies for happy hour. The little party was also a celebration because Jeff was able to repair our watermaker with parts we recieved from the states. (Thanks again Paul and Debbie and Bruce and Toby.)
But finally ready to move on, we head down the coast this morning. Our favorite anchorage of Tenacatita is about 30 miles away and we also would like to stick our nose into another spot called Paraiso that we've heard of but never stopped to explore.

Yelapa is a unique little hidden away village on the south side of Banderas Bay. No roads reach it and the only way to get there is by water.
