Another Taste of Mexico
This is a photo from back in 2008, the first time Journey went cruising to Mexico. The boat was full and overflowing with guests come to wish us Bon Voyage before we set off on our travels. It is a memory we still cherish.

The 'Un-bash'
With one-third of the trip north completed, the good news is that we haven't really been 'bashed' much at all. Back on the hook
So it wasn't a big change--we still had a gate key and could use the docks and the shower facilities--but it was a start.
Another high point of our stay in La Cruz was a fund-raiser on Wednesday night. They had a special evening of food and entertainment at the marina with the goal of raising enough money for a computer system for the local elementary school. All the local "PTA moms" brought home-made goodies to sell. Several musical groups performed, and they were very good. Then children from some of the nearby schools did an awesome display of folk dancing for us. With their bright, colorful costumes and youthful enthusiasm, they held us all spellbound. The festivities brought together the townspeople and the gringo cruisers to support a very worthy cause. The area schools are so over- crowded that they have to hold classes in shifts--two during the day and one at night. We felt honored to participate.
For our last evening in La Cruz, we joined three other cruiser couples for dinner at a lovely restaurant that was perched high on a hill over- looking the bay. The full moon provided all the ambiance we could have wished for as we ate beneath the stars.
This morning we pulled up the anchor and moved to Punta de Mita. Jeff got in a couple of hours of surfing and--with the flopper-stopper out--we are quite comfortable. We also hope to check out Tres Marietas for some snorkeling (the islands just off-shore) before we head north to Chacala.

Yelapa is a unique little hidden away village on the south side of Banderas Bay. No roads reach it and the only way to get there is by water.
